Product Detail: At the Alamo in San Antonio, then called Bejar, 150 Texas rebels led by Col. Travis made their stand against Santa Anna's vastly superior Mexican army. On the second day of the seige, February 24, 1836, Travis called for reinforcements with this heroic message:
"I shall never surrender or retreat. Then, I call on you in the name of Liberty, of patriotism, and everything dear to the American character, to come to our aid with all dispatch..VICTORY OR DEATH !"

Product Detail: Famous for his big knife and fighting prowess, Bowie lived in several southern states before he moved to Texas in 1828. Bowie was fluent in french and spanish languages in a time when most could not read and write in one language, these skills were beneficial when he moved to Texas. Bowie was a reckless adventurer, his bold and fearless disposition was demonstrted in the command he shared with Col. Travis at the Alamo. Pneumonia disabled Bowie and he was confined to his cot at the time of his death. Upon hearing of his death his mother said, "I'll wage they found no bullets in his back".

His reputation aas a sharpshooter, hunter, and storyteller grew with his success, and many fanciful accounts of his life were published. By 1835 Crockett had become disillusioned with politics and set off to explore Texas, departing TN with the famous quote: "You may all go to hell and I will go to Texas". Crockett fell in love with Texas and led the volunteers in the fight for Texas Independence at the Alamo.
